Children living: under government care, institutions, orphanages, and foster care
Children of parents affected by war, or those who have lost parents in the conflict
Internally displaced children, often uprooted by conflict and instability
Youth transitioning to adulthood from care or challenging circumstances
In addition to her work with UCARE, Vera is passionate about education and community involvement. She served as a teacher and director at a Saturday Ukrainian school, where she helps preserve cultural heritage and provides education to children. She is also a leader in Ukrainian youth organizations, inspiring young people to become engaged, compassionate leaders in their communities.
Vera’s blend of professional expertise, volunteer leadership, and deep commitment to children makes her a powerful advocate for those who need it most.
“My work with UCARE over the years has been both Heartwarming and Heartbreaking I have the opportunity to represent all the people who donate, volunteer, send good wishes to the youth/’children in Ukraine and give them hugs, encouragement, let them know they all matter and are not forgotten which warms my heart, but listening to their stories, knowing the war continues, their day to day lives, breaks my heart.”
