Summer Camp Articles
Over the years that we've been sharing the "табір" (summer camp) experience with orphans in Ukraine, many articles have appeared, both in the North American and Ukrainian press. I've saved some of these articles to share with you. Many have been written by me, but I'm hoping to get other participants to share their experiences as well.

Summer campers in the Carpathian mountains

This an article which appeared in our Detroit Ukrainian monthly in 2006.  This version is a pdf (with photos) that I put onto my own website.
2006 Camp article

This is an article I wrote about the 2005 summer camp for the local Detroit Ukrainian newspaper. It is fairly brief.
2005 Camp Article

Below is an article I wrote about my time at summer camp in 1999. It was the fifth camp, and the second I had attended. We had (unusually) a surfeit of doctors that year, so I got to teach pysankarstvo, the art of pysanka-making.

Note that in 1999, we were still called Help Us Help the Children, Inc. We changed our name to UCARE several years ago to get a nifty acronym, and to avoid the inevitable confusion with the Canadian organization that often arose.
