Once children "age out" and leave an orphanage, it is difficult for them to get by, having no family or support network and, often, no useful job skills. The government gives them the opportunity to attend an institution of higher learning tuition-free, but does not help provide adequate living expenses. UCARE helps these students through its "Stipendiat" program, providing them with a small stipend, and with allowances for food, clothing, books and medical and dental care. They also get emotional support from our staff and volunteers at the Kyiv office.
For $1000 a year, you can sponsor an orphan attending university or a trade school. You will get regular updates on your student's progress and, if you wish, can correspond with your student. For more information, click here.
