There are many challenges that children face within orphanages in Ukraine – getting a good night's rest should not be one of them.
It seems obvious that every child deserves a peaceful night's rest. Adequate rest is an important factor in a child's health, learning, and sociability. In addition to the developmental benefits, a child's bed is a private space. Every other area in an orphan's world is a shared space. We hope to replace worn dirty, rickety beds and mattresses pressed thin from decades of use.
What Does It Cost?
For approximately $150 (USD), a bed frame and mattress will be purchased from local manufacturers and delivered to the orphanages in need. These beds are sturdy laminate and will resist chipping and/or peeling. The orthopedic mattresses are thick, firm and include a water resistant mattress cover.
With a comfortable place to sleep, children can feel safe and peaceful throughout the night.
